Mr. Donald Boyd - Grade Three

Wow, I never thought that this is how "march break" would end. This is a message from me to my class and their parents , and the community of Membertou ,that this is a scary time and a reason for concern. Listen to our health experts, self isolate, wash your hands often and be safe. Our officials and leaders are at work, be patient and wait for additional information. Until then, I miss all of you my students, I hope you and your families are healthy and safe.

Due Date:

Students have been given a take home book about giant western cedar trees.

They have been given instructions, and have practiced in class for a few weeks the ways in which to build a paragraph and how to use the text to help gather information.

Students have to use their best writing, letter sizing, and punctuations ( .,?!) in their writing.

During the last two  months members of our student body expressed interest in pursuing singing. This link will take you to the CBC youtube page where you can see and hear this song. In mid Seotember I approached Ms. Dugandzic about making this project a reality. The girls who committed to this project are: Ali Martin, Malaysia Sappier , Danah Christmas , Kahlaya Isaac , Anna Kabatay and Keely Basque

We are extremely proud of you girls for your work and efforts!  Big thank you's go out to alot of people:

Darren Googoo for supporting our project and putting us into contact with community support.

Richard McKinnon of CBU for letting us use the recording studio to cover this song.

Christopher Jones, for being our tech in the studio.

Rosie and the riveters for their song, and their words and emails of encouragement as we created this cover.

Victor Dugandzic for playing the keyboards and helping my guitar not feel so lonley.

To Kyanne Paul and Candice Sappier, for driving the girls to the studio and keeping them supplied with snacks during a gruelling recording session.

I have had the most amazing time working on this project and I hope we can do something like this again soon. Thank you again
